My 12-week mentoring programme bridges the gap between initial training and working confidently on real clients, providing ongoing practical support, personalised feedback and the opportunity to refine your techniques while developing good habits from the start.
Troubleshooting During Treatments
Every client’s skin is different, and not every treatment goes according to plan. Sometimes we need to adapt our approach during a procedure, whether that means changing needle configurations, adjusting techniques, selecting a different pigment or even switching machines based on how the skin is responding. Knowing when, why and how to make these adjustments comes with experience, and this is where hands-on mentoring is invaluable.
Assessing Healed Results
Troubleshooting doesn’t end when the initial treatment is complete. Once we see the healed results, we may need to reassess our approach based on how the skin has responded and retained pigment. Cosmetic tattooing is not simply a matter of repeating the same process at the retouch. Adjustments to technique, needle configuration, pigment choice or depth may be necessary to achieve the best possible healed result. Understanding what has happened in the skin between treatments and knowing how to respond is a skill developed through experience.

If you’ve recently completed your basic cosmetic tattoo training and feel you need additional support to reinforce what you’ve learned, mentoring is for you. Developing skill, confidence, experience and consistency takes time, practice and guidance.
The mentoring program can cover:

3 Month Cosmetic Tattooing Mentorship
The 3 month, on-site mentoring program allows you to develop your skills and confidence progressively, rather than relying solely on a short, intensive training course. I can also travel to your clinic if you’re located outside my area. Group mentoring is available for clinics with multiple team members requiring support. Travel and group mentoring are subject to terms and conditions.
How Practical Mentoring Works
Students are responsible for sourcing and arranging their own suitable treatment models. A small fee will be charged to models to help cover treatment costs. Learning how to confidently attract and secure your own models is an important part of developing your skills, building your client base and establishing yourself as a cosmetic tattoo artist.
During supervised practical sessions:
Demonstration: I will demonstrate the appropriate techniques, explain treatment decisions and discuss equipment, pigments and procedures, however you will do most of the work.
Supervised Practice: Students must have completed basic cosmetic tattoo training, hold appropriate insurance and a current infection control certificate. All practical treatments will be performed under my direct supervision.
Individual feedback: We review technique, hand positioning, pigment implantation, treatment results and areas requiring improvement.
Ongoing development: Students are encouraged to continue practising, developing their skills and building confidence throughout the mentorship.

One-on-one cosmetic tattoo mentoring in Queensland currently ranges from $1,200 to $3,500 per day.
I’ve intentionally designed my mentoring programme differently, offering 4 hours of personalised, hands-on mentoring each week for 12 weeks. Having an experienced cosmetic tattoo technician by your side, observing your work, guiding you through each step and helping you troubleshoot challenges as they arise, is invaluable.
Short of a traditional apprenticeship, this is the next best thing! You’ll have the time, support and practical experience to build genuine confidence and develop your skills at your own pace.
Important Training Information
This is a private, non-accredited cosmetic tattoo mentoring program, not a nationally recognised qualification, registered apprenticeship or accredited diploma.
Students must meet applicable Queensland infection control requirements before performing skin penetration procedures. All practical treatments are subject to suitability assessment, supervision, client consent and insurance requirements.
